Wireline Operations Intervention for Field Engineers & Technicians (WOIFET) Level 1

Description

In oil and gas exploration, the term wireline broadly defines industry-specific methods, processes, and technologies that lower cables and wires into a wellbore. Wirelines are strong, thin lengths of wire or braided cable mounted on a powered reel. Typical wireline applications affix “logging tools” or instruments to a cable rigged to drilling platforms or trucks that, once attached, is lowered by the cable into oil well holes or natural gas reservoirs to perform diagnostics or to gather and transmit data. As a general descriptive term, wireline is also used interchangeably to describe the processes, techniques, cabling technologies, and systems used to conduct wireline operations.

WOIFET Level 1 covers wireline Operations, Types of wireline, Wireline Logs, Primary Well Control, Secondary Well Control, Tertiary Well Control, Surface Equipment i.e. WL Unit & Power Pack, Hoisting Device, Counter Head Assembly, Load Cell Assesmbly, Wire Clamp, Hay Pulley etc., Pressure Control Equipment i.e. Stuffing Box, Grease Injection Head, Lubricator, BOP, Optional PCE etc., Sub Surface Equipment i.e. Tool String, Service & Conditioning Tool, Running & Pulling Tool, Flow Control Device, Shifting & Kick Over Tool, Fishing Tools, Special Tools and more.

Wireline Operations Intervention for Field Engineers & Technicians (WOIFET) Level 1 is designed to provide detailed knowledge of wire-line operations, equipment’s and integration for Field Engineers & Technicians and will assist those who are switching or enhancing there career in Oil & Gas Wireline Operations.

Assessment

Participant underpinning knowledge of Wireline Operations Intervention at Level 1 will be accessed with short answer multiple-choice questionnaire at the conclusion of the course.

Outcome

Participants will gain an in debt understanding of Wireline Operations Intervention .They will also be able to function with minimum supervision as Wireline technicians, Wireline Field Engineer, Project Engineer for IOCs.
