Purpose

To develop the highly specialized skills and knowledge required for efficient Solid Waste Management at entry Level 1.

Aims

The course is designed to give a holistic introduction to the handling of wastes and by products. On completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the HS&E impacts of poor waste management, the concept of “duty of care”, and prioritizing wastes

  • Communicate the need for proper waste control to work colleagues
  • Understand the procedures for control and monitoring of wastes
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of waste labeling
  • Describe Waste Disposal ProceduresMaintain records of all waste management activities
